San disk makes a CF card reader with a FW800 connection. Rugged, metal case, yet compact. Could 't tell you the transfer speed, but it's noticably faster than any of my USB devices.
Thanks, my problem is I'm using a windows base computer to transfer the KPM CF cards. Because the cards are HFS+ formatted the only card reader that I been able to use (recommended by AJA ) is the Syba reader. Most readers when plugged into a windows system default to reading only FAT32 cards and do not see the Ki Pro HFS+ formatted cards. Syba card readers will not do this but they only work via USB 2.0 cable even though there is a SATA connection it will only read on USB.
I'm wondering what the transfer speed is transferring video data off the CF cards via an Apple base system; my current max speed using ShotPut to transfer is around 20MB/s
