GH2 Anyone used those cheap knock off batteries on ebay?

Never purchased a knock-off battery... not ever. And it's probable that I won't start anytime soon. But I was just browsing ebay to pick up a couple new replacement batteries for the GH2 (BLC12PP), and noticed all the knock-offs I'd never seen before for only around $14. Just wondering if any of you have used these and if their quality is about equal to their price.

Also, what do you guys make of this site selling genuine BLC12 batteries for 32.99? Wonder if it's legit at that price...

EDIT: nevermind, not a reputable site at all. They call you after placing an order to tell you that it isn't in stock and then sell you a knockoff replacement for the same price... meh.

Hello LIn2arx:

I have a stash of knock off batteries bought off Ebay. They seem to work fine and there are no problems. As long as you understand that they might not last as long in a shoot, and they don't give warning when they poop out, they are useful as back up when your Panny batteries run dry.

Be aware that they are not chipped, and will not recharge in the regular Gh2 Panasonic charger, and so it's best to get a knock off charger as well. I got two extra chargers and six batteries at dirt cheap prices.

No regrets at all. Just don't use them when flashing your hack... I'm sure you know that.

Don't know anything about the cheap Panny battery which seems to be suspiciously cheap, but then, with the Gh2 being suspiciously cheap as well, maybe it's just a reflection of a model that's on its way out.
