GH2 Anyone use Premiere CS6 for editing native GH2 .MTS? (bizzare artifacts, please HELP)

CS6 (not 5.5) has a temporary problem interpreting GOP structure (as does, apparently, the United States XD).
There used to be a similar problem in CS4 when you edited in a lower h.264 playback resolution. They will eventually update the program to fix this, communicate w/ them on the web (they listen).
For now, Driftwood's intra hack avoids this (no GOP), or you can use 5d2rgb/Media Encoder CS5.5 to pre-convert the files to something edit friendly.

I'm curious about this. I have shot miles of hack and non-hack material on GH2s over the past 12 months, all of it has been edited and delivered via CS6 since June. No issues. In truth, I haven't shot anything non-hack since July, but I did edit a couple projects from footage captured native .mts back in March and the previous September, again--no issues.

From the description I'm thinking its a hardware config problem. Run it past some folks in the Adobe PP forum, lots of expertise over there.

Same here. I downloaded the clips and the issue happened on my system as well (Windows 7x64, GTX285, Premiere CS6), but I have never seen anything like this.

I've replicated the problem on my end (in my case, with lpowell's Flowmotion 2).

Then the problem is either with your footage, your system, or that patch. I've used GH2 footage on two different computers, using two different operating systems, using four different firmwares (including the original) without any issues at all.

In general, CS6 does not have any issues with GH2 footage. The artifact Tim is asking about here is actually in his original footage, as it can also be seen when played back outside of PP.

Ok so what is your advice? Play with camera settings? Change firmware to 1.1?

I believe that you have zero issues with your setup. Any advice?

In which program? I played it back in Windows Media Player and VLC and didn't see the artifact (in the original footage clip).

ok, so here is a little update.

MAIN GOAL: I want to feed Premiere cs6 with native .mts from gh2, with no 3rd party apps. So far I've got strange artifacts of "snowing noise" inside PP CS6 and if I play original .mts OUTSIDE of PP:

StreamClip, Quicktime = no artifacts,

VLC = yes artifacts... (very close to those inside of PP cs6)

I've updated firmware version on my GH2 to 1.1. = same results.

I've tried opening the same .mts on different computers with different versions of MacOS (all macs though) = same results

So the only thing left to me is I have to find similar .MTS from other peoples GH2's to understand if the problem to that artifacts is my maybe FAULTY unit (gh2)?

But if so, why re-wrapping with ClipWrap those "faulty" .mts's result with totally clear and fine looking footage ???

Where is so many things I just don't get :)

Maybe any of you guys have any idea where I can get similar (preferably SHORT) clips (original .MTS from un-hacked GH2)?

It has to be anything with very poor light, because those artifacts are better appear in very poor light.
