Anyone use a Trigger Grip on a GH-1?

I''m new to the GH-1. The other night, I shot about 200 clips. I used the eyepiece. I found it annoying to constantly try to hit the red record button on and off. It caused a shaky start and some false stops.

I bought a cheap $5 wired remote. Not to happy with the button though.

I was wondering of anyone has used a pistol grip like trigger, like on old 16mm or 8mm film cameras?

I may modify one with the wired release.

Does the wired release actually work for video record, or does it just trigger the still shutter?
 
i believe it does work as a start recording/stop recording in video mode.

there was a post a few months back.

i've not got a remote myself but remember the post well as i was wondering the same thing.

so you have the remote? and you have used it? ermmm why not try it on video mode? lol :smile:
 
wired works for video too. it does for me. i never use the red button only the big silver shutter button. as for shaky starts, i edit that out in post if it ever happens, and give myself a two to three sec buffer start and finish to settle down when filming.
