This may be helpful for those using Avid.

now, I have to use the import media function and that eats up time.

Any reviews from users would be helpful?

I don't know if it can be used with Avid. Maybe the FCP version can be (on a Mac)? I don't know that I've heard of anyone doing it.

I don't think the Windows version would work -- and if it does, I think it wouldn't be any better than importing the MXFs the way you're doing it now.
 
I'm sure Marcus will weigh in here soon, but until then: I'm pretty sure the Mac version would work with Mac Avid, but I am also pretty sure that the Windows version would not work with Windows Avid.
