I've tried a couple of experiments, with media that ranges from 8 Mb/s to 14 Mb/s, and all tend to have essentially unacceptable macroblocking artifacts and the like.
So, my question is if anyone has tried this, and what was the 'successful' setup.
The utility I was using was called 'RevolverHD', which takes a H.264 QT file, and creates the BLURAY AVCHD disk structure and m2ts packaging required to play in a Bluray player.
The various options on the H.264 compression where
Setting the bitrate down to 15 Mb/s and 1920x1080
Setting the bitrate down to 8 Mb/s and 1280x720
Media that was 'handy'... DVD+R.
The original material was 24 fps using the AIC.
And naturally, all the various H.264 versions played smoothly on the Mac I was using...
