Diving into 4/5 lbs PL zoom options to my F3 doc ru&gun style assignments, and waitin Zeiss 20-80.
Anyone had chance to play and test the Canon 30-105 PL? what about kin tone, contrast, ramping, breath, color?
I´m lookin a no extremely deep wallet option, obviously Angenieux is out.
many thanks for your input and advice

An Angenuiex Rouge 30-80 is going to be only a little more than the Zeiss 20-80. $20,500 for Ang, $19,900 for Compact Zoom.

Not exactly what your looking for but a cheaper/lighter alternative, I bought an FD adapter for the f3 with an old FD 35-105mm 3.5 for when I need a lightweight zoom for handheld/run n gun- holds focus and has a useful "macro" function- its slower than 2.8 but not a big deal on a camera like the f3. Super cheap, decent sharpness WO and absolutely stunning lens flare. Add some lens gears and your set.

Optimo Rouge, it seems an option in my pricetag.
I´ve to research and rent it to test! I did heard some complaints about its performance, but, again, I will test it. 8/10 months backorder!

Really? Never heard a bad word about it. There's one that was posted on Reduser the other day, as well.

If you have cash in hand ready to go, you can usually find a backordered lens from somebody, especially if you put the word out and can wait a couple few weeks.
