Whoa, I didn't realise so many of you guys were hardcore! All I know is how to talk my way out of trouble... not nearly as cool as roundhouse kicking people in the throat!
I haven't been doing it for long, but I studied Karate when I was younger, then dropped it because of my family. Then took Judo in school for a bit. Then I decided to take it seriously and joined up a nearby Kyokushin Karate Dojo. Been studying it for a year and a half now. I want to take something else with my karate. Something that would be more street wise. Something like Krav Maga, or perhaps some grappling, like more Judo (even though I hated it, ugh). But right now I don't have the time or money, so perhaps later on in life.
So anyone else study MA?
That sounds like my 2nd degree black belt test. After about two hours, my instructor looked at the other three black belts who were testing that day, pointed to me and said, "Get him!" That was a fun sparring session. The last test I took was almost 2 hours and I was ready to vomit my intestines, but in the real world you need that kind of stamina to stay alive in certain situations.

Next time.
the last place I wanne end up in a street fight is on the ground...
HorseFilms said:Absolutely! That first time on a big stage can really get to you. Now that you have it out of the way, you'll be able to concentrate more on the fight. Experience is your best weapon.

Spartacus said:I´m just asking because, I´ve trained with a lot of guys and gals who were eager to learn any technic thrown at them, but simply lacked any fighting spirit.
When you´re in the situation to defend yourself from physical harm, than you should be ready to harm back.
Sometimes firm words can be enough, sometimes you´ll have to kill another person to protect your own life.
