Anyone study Martial Arts?

I haven't been doing it for long, but I studied Karate when I was younger, then dropped it because of my family. Then took Judo in school for a bit. Then I decided to take it seriously and joined up a nearby Kyokushin Karate Dojo. Been studying it for a year and a half now. I want to take something else with my karate. Something that would be more street wise. Something like Krav Maga, or perhaps some grappling, like more Judo (even though I hated it, ugh). But right now I don't have the time or money, so perhaps later on in life.

So anyone else study MA?

tae kwon do during high school and wing chun during college. I never got into a street fight in all those years, but it came in handy when choreographing fight scenes for video projects :-)

20 years of Tae Kwon Do, some karate, a little kung fu, whatever I can get exposure to... I take the techniques I like and forget the rest.

Krav Maga is the real deal.

I've never studied but I've shot several instructional martial arts DVD titles for Century Martial Arts.

Am about to enroll my son and myself in Aikido. Am looking forward to it. I've never studied martial arts before.

I've been watching a tonne of UFC and Pride lately (go Wanderlei!) and have to say if you want a discipline that will actually 'work' in a streetfight then kickboxing is the only way to go. I'm pretty sure that kicking in the balls will also work

Believe it or not, wrestling can provide some very devastating results. The stuff you see on TV may be dramatized, but grappling and wrestling are effective if used properly. Just ask they guy who has been bodyslammed on the pavement.

Wrestling can be very effective. Like any martial art, you'll want to add some things to it, though. Wrestling wouldn't be my first choice against multiple opponents, for instance.
