Just went to export my timeline and I keep getting this "Quicktime Error -50". I went back and looked at the project and I guess at some point yesterday this little warning icon appeared in the Event Library, check out this screenshot: SCREENSHOT

Anyone else ran into this problem? I've got 3 hours until this needs to be up on Youtube... feeling the pressure... Thanks for any feedback! - Ben

Are you running 10.1?

And do you have Perian installed on your computer? If so uninstall it.

Finally, how much room is remaining on your Iomega drive?

I saw this posted in another forum. I don't know if this applies to you but check your timeline.

I had this -50 error when exporting my movie. I tried multiple things to fix that, when I discovered the solution.

When you insert/add/overwrite a clip into the timeline, sometimes FCPX does not generate the vignettes associated to the video (only the audio waveforms are correctly displayed). You can read the clip successfully, apply effects and do everything with it in the timeline, but when exporting this corrupted clip, the -50 error will occur. The solution is then to remove this clip and add it again (it should not bug twice on the same clip!).

So I do not know whether you are in the same situation, but I hope this could help.

Thanks for the forum repost Vegas06, I'll try this out. I ended up being able to export a full res version at 4gb, then bring it into iMovie to compress it down. Looks alright, will get the real fix together for next time. Here the VID

I ran into a -50 error once, and I found that restarting the computer fixed it. I also once ran into a -50 error, and couldn't resolve it :( I had to break my 35min timeline up into sections and render each section individually and then reassemble the final ProRes code into a time line. Not ideal, but it worked!
