Just got the Steadicam Flyer a few weeks ago and was wondering if anyone has had a problem with there battery support rod not staying tighten when balancing the sled.
Thanks
JohnT

If the battery support rod is a liitle loose at the hinge, then (carefully) tighten it a litlte with the T-handle allen wrench that you use to adjust the gimble. All the allen bolts on the sled use that same size tool if i recall correctly.

Just be carefull with the allen bolt that holds the bottom of the sled on the post, you dont' want to loosen that so it falls off (and it cought by the wires) ..be sure ot check you have the bottom of the sled and hte stage alligned too, so the base hasn't spun on the post.

Yeah we tighten with the allen wrench and it still slips. I called Tiffen and they said there must be a problem and to ship it back. They stated that the problem would be corrected and was really sorry that this was happening.

Thanks. Going to ship it back tomorrow. Should have it back in about a week. Other than this small problem, its a great product. What type of system do you have Mikk?

Got the Flyer from EVS for 6500.00. Also picked up a Shotwatcher transmitter and a Zoe focus control. Call Rush at EVS. Excellent service.

How's the Zoe for Steadicam use?

I fly the Flyer myself when i'm home in Finland.
I also have a homebuilt that i have to break out on occasion if the Flyer isn't available.

I havent used the Zoe on the Flyer yet. Just on sticks. The Zoe is really nice. Very smooth.
You can also adjust the rate of speed if you want.

Hi JohnT, thanks for that, and sorry for the problem you are having. Please let me know or post how things turn out.

No problem Rush. Just a minor fix that Tiffen said would be corrected. Shipped it back to them this morning. We appreciate all that you have done and the fast Shipment on the last order. I will update you once we get it back.

I just bought a Steadicam Flyer as well. Could you describe in more detail what you mean by the "battery support rod?" Do you mean the hinge at which the Snap-On mount (I have Anton Bauer version) is mounted to? I've got a ProPak14 on mine right now and the angle of the hinge does slip a little if the brick is tilted at any angle other than vertical (although I haven't even taken the trouble to tighten the allen nut yet).
