Hey all,
Very interested to hear if anyone's successfully managed the update to FW v3.1. I've had a really disastrous experience with it (GHD repeatedly refusing to recognise the .fw file on a FAT32 formatted, 8GB USB stick), and since I tried a factory reset in desperation, have now lost all my imported .LUTs, and the GHD is refusing to recognise LUT files that it previously imported with zero issues!
If anyone has run into issues like these, and managed to overcome - your input would be MUCH appreciated. Clock's ticking on the next big shoot in just over a week, so VERY keen to get this sorted ASAP.
[EDIT] - Sorted the problem after over an hour of experimenting. It seems the culprit was the new 'improved' Apple Disk Utility (included with El Capitan upgrade). It was somehow creating a FAT32 format variant the the GHD couldn't read properly. Ironically one of the bug fixes in the Grat FW V_3.1 was "improved compatibility with OSX USB", but that doesn't help much when your trying to install that very upgrade! Anyhow, the workaround was to format the USB in an older mac, with the tried and true old Disk Utility. After that then the FW was detected and installed without an issue. Thought it worth posting in case anyone else runs into this issue.
