Anyone lost all the data on the card?

This happened last week.. had a kodak 8gb card in the camera and had been using it all week. Was sitting with a friend, shot a couple of still, went into playback mode to look at them, came out of playback mode and got some card error or another. Popped the SD card out, put it back in - card error. Popped out, put it in, all good, go into playback mode.. TA DAAA! All your data has been magically erased!

I'd only had the camera a few days so I'm not totally up to speed with it but that's roughly what happened.

Hi Ozpeter,

I was warned about this issue, and I have personally had very similar experience with Gh-1's sister TZ7.

I asked around in Tokyo and I was told to buy Panasonic level 10 cards. I bought a 16GB Panasonic highest spec cards and so far have had no issue.

I'm glad I upgraded. There have been Japanese customers who come to big camera shops for solutions for memory loss on cards with the Gh-1. Sales guys tried selling them Panasonic cards and apparently the customers stopped coming back.

lol. seriously...

Praying on behalf of all those who are concerned with memory card issues.

i had the same problem happen with a transcend 16gb card, it was a nigthmare! i've since switched to san disk and am trying to separate shooting photos on one card and video on another, not sure if that has an effect but i was doing a lot of burst shooting of photos right before i tried to import and lost it all. good luck!
