Anyone know how to connect the HPX170 to external monitor

just got a brand new IKAN V8000HDE and can't seem to get it to read my hpx170. Turned SDI out off in the menu like the manual says, made sure I was on 1080 output. Tested the monitor and the RCA to BNC adapter by going rca in from my TV.
Hopefully the component isn't bad on the IKAN.

Anyone know if there are any other menu options I can try to get the hpx to send a signal?
 
is the ikan supposed to be able to auto-detect what input is being used?

i think your model is the one with the additional hdmi input. it may default to that and might need to be configured not to see that if hdmi is not connected
 
This monitor only has s-video, RCA, and component (bnc) connections. There must be some hpx menu setting I am neglecting. I turned the SDI out off in camera as well setting a/v out menu to 1080. Is there anything else I'm not thinking of?
