anyone here used the Canon 24-105 T4 IS on fs 100

My 24-105 literally arrived yesterday, was a bit late to use on the wedding
I was shooting however. Currently gearing up to shoot a feature length
film beginning on the 30th of this month.

Will be testing the lens out this coming week to see how it will best fit
in, more than likely will use it to steady out shots on a rig depending on
scene mood.

I did put it on the FS100 late last night to check out how noisy the IS
was and it's not loud at all. In fact I couldn't hear it without putting
my ear to the lens. The 70-200 with IS is considerably louder but
usable. Not that it's always warranted but if needed you can hand
hold the 70-200 and get a good shot, add a rig and you should be
golden. Interesting to see handheld 300mm equivalent footage...surprisingly
looks great. Quite a new feeling coming from my Nikon lenses
to have IS. With a lot of the run and gun work I do it's going
to be fantastic.

The 24-105 is my workhorse lens for a couple of months now on the FS100. I really like the lens. It's share, very nicely built and has a decent focusthrow for a AF lens. No hard stops though, as with all EF glass. I went with the 105 over the 24-70 2.8 for the extra reach and IS. The FS100 can easily compensate for the F-stop loss with it's low noise ISO. The IS works perfectly with my Metabones II adapter. I do notice a bit of lightloss when zooming all the way in. Overall really happy with it. I use it mostly as a docu lens, together with the Samyang 35mm F1.4 and 85mm F1.4. They make the perfect team imo for reach with the 24-105 and lowlight/shallow DoF shots with the Samyangs. Looking to add a Tokina 11-16 to the team for UWA shots, as I now use a Tamron 17-50 at 17mm for that, but my lens has a broken zoom mechanism(why I upgraded to the 24-105).

I love the Canon 24-105mm F4 on my FS100 as a allrounder-documentary lens. Used it a lot BUT can't afford to buy right now (and tired of renting/borrowing from friends...) so as a substitute I bought a Minolta AF 24-105mm 3.5-4.5 lens that works with the LA-EA1/2 adapters. Sure, somewhat slower when zoomed in, no IS and not the same build quality and chunky steady feel of the Canon, but you know what? I like it! It's small and light, fairly sharp (I'm no sharpness-freak though!) and it ... works. Cost me 200€ on ebay.
