So I've got a little project I'm trying to put together - but don't know the first thing about creating an iphone app -
so I'm doing the thing I always do in times of need...turning to the DVXuser arsenal of talent.

Anyone out there have any crazy iphone app ninja skills?

I'm interested in knowing more about this too.

From what I've read, Cocoa is the Objective-C programming language used to create iPhone apps.
 
Yeah, it's Object-C. It's pretty easily doable for anyone with OO language experience. But you do have to be a programmer to do it. I'm starting to write these now.

How steep of a learning curve would it be for someone with no prior coding (other than than the simplest of BASIC and HTML) skills to learn Objective-C? Where should I start?
 
It's an actual programming language. If you're not a programmer, you're not going to just start writing these apps. And you are especially not going to write them well. It can get tricky writing programs to perform with such little processor and memory.

You do kind of have to know what you're doing.

That said, Apple does put out one of the sweetest SDKs around. Except that it only runs on a Mac...

I know you weren't responding to me - but just to be clear - I had no intention of trying to write an app ... which is exactly why I was looking for someone who could.

People have from what I have read made fairly successful iphone apps with no prior experience. Seems like a daunting task to me and must have taken a hell of a lot of research and trial and error. I went as far as downloading the SDK. I ended up playing with the iphone simulator for a minute and haven't touched it since. i would love to learn though.
