anyone here drive a scooter?

I've test-ridden Firebolts. Those little bikes are just brutal.

The Ulysses looks cool, though. I like to park next to them up at Newcomb's Ranch; side by side they look like my own bike's distant genetically-drifted cousin, or something.

My dad has a Buell, but I'm not sure the model. I think it's this one, but without the windshield and the front headlight part:

That thing is so cool...

The bike in the picture is a Firebolt. Those can be a real handful; they're super-compact, with a short wheelbase and aggressive rake. There's a lot of novel engineering there.

Sans-fairing/windscreen, it sounds like your Dad has an XB-12:

That looks more like it, but his has the gold-colored rims like the Firebolt. Do they make the XB-12 with the gold trim?

Which would you get if you were thinking of getting a Buell?

There are three or four variants in the XB-12 Lightning family; I expect that some or all of them could be had with the gold-colored trim.

If I were looking for a Buell, I would get an XB-12R - which is apparently the only model of the Firebolt they're presently making (as a stable-mate to the 1150GS, not as my only bike).

I wouldn't be caught dead on a scooter. Try a used Suzuki Gs500 from the late 90's or 2000-2002 for a good naked street bike look. Sv650's are great. Cruiser bikes like a Honda Nighthawk or something if you're into that, they get better gas mileage. Not only are scooters not as safe, you look ridiculous on them... no thanks.
