Anyone have DV vs HPX500 difference?

[Don Schechter]

Anyone have stills or video of the same scene/shot with a DV camera and the HPX? I will likely do a few next week but was wondering if anyone could save me the trouble and share a sample so I can show people the difference between DV and DVCProHD....

Have them look at a scene with both eyes. Then tell them to cover one eye, poke the open one with a finger, and look again. That's the difference.

haha. Nice analogy. but there's one problem with it. They should poke their eye open after consuming 10 shots of tequilla upside down...

The 500 shoots both DV and DVCPRO-HD, of course. But the DV you'll get from the 500 is going to look better than the DV you'd get from a consumer DV cam or even a 1/3" 3 CCD camera.

So maybe if they look at a scene with the HPX with their eye poked out that may be my best solution

You could use an HD monitor to show the difference. It will be very obvious there.

If I had a DV, I'd be glad to shoot a frame for you, but our XL1 is down. Probably some **moving part** failed.....
