Anyone Have a Good Day for Night Scene File?

I am looking to shoot my Indie horror and wanted to see if I can get away with shooting day for night.

I think I remember someone saying they had a Day for Night setting at the NY boot camp.

Thanks
Ben

Day for night is a trick developed in the B&W age in order to make night shoots in daylight, preferable at noon, later in color film beginning, the use of blue filters makes it possible to shoot some thing like night at daytime... it is a trick not a replace, not always and not all scenes can be shoot this way, you need to have plenty of direct, high contrast, (better zenithal) light in order to achieve a persuasive Day for night shoots, the best day for night do not replace a good, well exposed real night shoot.
One of the secrets of filmaking is the suspension of reality and that becomes when your audience makes no questions or critics to what is happening on the screen.

Ernesto nailed that. I have done some tests though and like he said.. hard bright light makes the best day for night options... FCP has the 3 way color corrector and there's a lot of posibility when going to black and white... but with color you'd be limited...

Test around a bit is fun... so go out on some bright days with long shadows and see what comes out.
