GH3 Anyone Had Any Trouble With Auto/Assist Focus?

Tonight, I put on my Olympus 17mm for a shoot. I just used it on Sat. I don't use autofocus, but I do use "half-shutter" press to have the camera assist me with manual focus.
I pressed the shutter halfway and the camera didn't focus. Checked all my settings. Turned the camera on and off and even ejected the battery.
I decided to pop on my 25mm Panasonic lens and the camera handled the auto-assist just fine. So I put the Olympus back on...PRESTO...focus assist was working again.
Weird.
To make things more mysterious...this is the same camera that has giving me the occasional card read errors that I have posted about here.
I have filled out a service request through Panasonic but I'm waiting for a chance between projects to turn it in. I really don't want/like to be without a backup.

Any ideas/thoughts about the focus assist issue?

Did you try removing the lens and putting it back on before changing lenses? Maybe it didn't click in fully... or there was something on the contacts and when you changed lens it was removed? Until you can repeat the problem, I'd say it's just a one-time glitch. Card read error should be unrelated...

Hm, I do that as well and have had it happen twice. Both times with the 25mm Panaleica on and it has stopped focusing completely. It has happened when I have stopped recording and been on manual focus. Then preparing for the next clip I couldn't get manual focus, half-shutter focus, or focus with AE/AF lock button working (obviously I tried the different focusing modes). Powercycling has been enough for me to get it back. The camera was both times on the C1-mode, where I have my "cinema"-settings. ;) Don't know if that throws it off somehow. No other problems with either the lens or camera.
