Anyone get an iPAd yet?

So, those commercials touting their near-universal 3G coverage? They annoy me greatly.

How timely. *See Other Thread*

Actually, could it have been your phone? Maybe the 3G component inside the phone was faulty? Don't really know the innards of a cell phone but seems to me there'd have to be a 3G thingy...

Well, I can't 100% rule that out, but I do know others with the same phone who haven't found it anywhere, either, but traveled abroad and found it on different networks.

Now this thing is sweet!
Windows 7 on a joojoo tablet!

Not sure what that has to do with the iPad?

On a related note I did get Windows working on my brother inlaws iPad this weekend though. It's called iTeleport. Worked like a charm. :)

Basically a remote desktop app. Functioned much like the video above. Point and click, bring up the keyboard at will.

If you live in nyc you will get a lot of of "verizon rules" "attt sucks" attitude.

Partially cause its true. I have verizon, and its unbelievably solid here. My girlfriend has an iphone and att. She has coverage issues, dropped calls, and 3g hiccups.

Having a verizon cellphone in nyc is like having a landline in your pocket. Though, when I went to puertorico, only her iphone was functional..... mine didn't even get cell reception.

I use Rogers over here (Ottawa, Ontario) and it's actually pretty good. Never have a problem getting 3G coverage. Got a 6GB/month plan for $25/month when the iPhone first launched.

Roaming yes. but its like 10$ a minute. AKA im in no such emergency. Though i did have 5 bars of Roaming. where as she had 2bars of At&t.

I played around with an iPad at the Apple Store this weekend, and yep, it's sexy, and fast, really fast. I liked it. Couldn't see myself getting one, but it's pretty nifty.

A buddy of mine just gave a great idea - get the Sprint 4G portable wireless unit, carry it around in your pocket - 4G iPad! and no AT&T.

2 million iPads sold in the first 60 days and now the latest numbers just released from Apple say 3 million total sales in 80 days. The rate people are buying them has sped up, I wonder how long it will sustain the pace for.

Rick, get this, there are apps that convert (server side) flash media into html5 on the fly and let you watch "converted flash" on your iPad, so, anything Flash I can watch now on the fly on my iPad (it's converted to html5 when it displays on the iPad).

Every negative thing I have heard about the iPad has pretty much been defeated or will soon be.

Did I tell you guys I have been printing from my iPAd when everyone said you can't print from it. I have the beta OS 4 on it and it's REALLY slick now, It & the iPhone are going to dominate so much so that the trade commission will have to get involved.

Meh. Weak points.

Apple has always done things different, and for good reason - they are visionaries. They see what could be rather than what is. Sometimes that means they jump the gun and are the earliest to market but they are rarely wrong.

AppleTV - bad, or early? Well let's look where everything is going... GoogleTV, Internet connected TV, etc. You can bet they have an answer in the works.

How about neXt and integrated hardware/software. Failed then but look at it now - it is their whole business model.

Same with floppies, and today their embracing of wireless use VS physical medium. Same with flash - it's end near.

Only difference is now they have enough market respect to follow their vision. Everything else is just business as usual.
