Anyone get an iPAd yet?

some apple products are good and make sense, like some ipods, other don't like ipod shuffle.

What are you talking about? The iPod shuffle is a huge seller. I would NEVER buy one myself, but I realize the world does not revolve around me. Girls eat those things up, so do a lot of athletes. They are like accessories for girls, and require no pocket, clip ons, or bulk. I know a ton of girls who want that as their iPod of choice. It is also really popular for swimmers, as they put it into a compartment of waterproof headsets, so their whole audio system is right there in the headphones.

Just because a product doesn't make sense for you or me, does not mean the product doesn't make sense. I think that goes from everything from a shuffle to an iPad.

I'm NOT the typical "web surfer" who visits social networking sites and plays "farmville" or such garbage. I check email, come here and actually use the computer as a computer.

I suppose a "true techie" could want it as an addition to his/her real computer, but not as a replacement.
I don't want one at all. Not even a little bit.
Then again, I don't want a MAC either.

Get off the "true techie" high horse. If you don't want one fine, but don't you dare pass judgment on what people do for entertainment on their own time. The arrogance is staggering.

Maybe rethink what a computer is to 99% of people in the year 2010. Most if not all times it is now a gateway to servers in a far off land. The iPad is a web and media consumption device. Not a content creation device, people need to realize this. It's like getting mad that your F1 race car can't harvest wheat. :/

After my test drive earlier today I can't stop thinking about app ideas that I'm going to have made for the iPad.

Aww.... Did I ruffle your feathers? Okay fine.. Have it your way. a "True Techie" does want it to replace his/her real computer.

There.. happy now?

LOL this is getting funny. Does this argument really matter? If you want it, you want it, if you don't, you don't. If you're not sure, go play with one and decide for yourself, and be happy with whatever you choose! :)

hehe

Okay, I'll try one. I won't buy it for personal reasons, but I'll try it. I bet it's great fun!

But the iPad isn't how you have described it.

Until you use one, my guess is that your perception will be skewed and limited.

You cannot compare it to laptop or a netbook. I've had both. I use Macs and I had a Lenovo and Dell netbook.

The iPad is so different, and so addicting it's hard to describe what it is.

Read the post by the person who woke up not wanting an iPad and then buying one by lunch.

We haven't put ours down since we got it on Saturday.

Two firm PC friends dropped by last night, couldn't put it down during the BB game, and then ordered two this morning.

Fair enough. I'll grant you the fact that I'd probably need to play with the thing for a while before fully understand it.

I was just told the new version OS 4.0 for the iPhone and iPad that will be out in a few months will offer some form of multitasking, just how much is unknown but I'd think it'd be good for at least 2 programs (3rd party apps) running at the same time or they wouldn't say it will be able to multitask.

I heard a blue tooth keyboard will also work on the new OS 4.0 for the iPhone.

This could get really good really quick.

That could be great news, I would love to be able lo leave safari loading a page o youtube loading a video while I play a game or do other things... And I guess apple finally has seen the light and accept their weak points....(not that they didn't do that before).

Yup! OS 4.0 is officially announced tomorrow at a 10am PST media event, so expect stories all over the web tomorrow morning/afternoon. Multitasking is likely from what the rumors are saying.

Is the iPad working with Youtube at all?
I thought it´s impossible to run Flash stuff on a iPad (which rules out at least 50% of all Internet sites)

And than there is this:
