Anyone else sick of Z1U/FX1 Bashing

OK here goes.....I'm one of the bashers of the Z1 and I have and do still use the damn things at a push. The latitude of the camcorder sucks. As for noise, well I get by. For the price its a very good little camcorder but it does have it's limitations. If I were asked to invest in one tomorrow then sorry no, I wouldn't want to sink the cash into something that's just OK.

If you want to see some sample Z1 footage, go to my website and click on the recent projects section. See for yourself what you can actually achieve with some thought on lighting and composition and alot of CG.

The most funny part is that you are one of the good Z1 footage examples that it's frequently quoted webwide... :badputer:

EDIT

-- BTW, if you are talking about Z1 latitude, what the HVX buyers can say about their own noisy reports?... And it can be not serious but it's not funny!
[-- BTW part II, you didn't write that, I didn't read it, etc etc etc. :engel017:]

If so, why are you selling it? :violin:

Because I'm so busy with school I don't really use it much other than the stuff I do for this site. (test footage etc)

The camera in general is a jewel.

I might use my proceedings to invest in one, yes. :) If I can get a good enough deal, that is.

You see! That's why people like you are preferring a SD camera rather a HD...that people like me didn't invest in a Sony's HDV shooting basis during and pending ONE (w)hole year, waiting for a break-dreamer(s)...indeed!

BTW, see the differences:

Arrgh! My GL1 cries out in pain again Emanuel! That test really shows that I need an upgrade and since this is the second time I've seen it, it's become a painful reminder!

So the Z1 is a good camera? Thats great. Why not start a Z1user web site?
As a dvxuser member, i think its totally fine to bash the competition. You shouldn't be surprized when we gripe. You should, however come to terms with the fact that this is a PANASONIC forum. So when we bash the competition, deal with it.
Just to keep the trend going I'll answer the question above.
The roster of a z1user web site would be weak when compared to dvxuser site.

-just a thought

Actually, I'm not doing it for the resolution I'm doing it for the 24P. I really had hard times trying to do 1080i/60i conversions to 24p on my FX1 so why not buy a cam that shoots in native 24p??

It's the only logical way.

Everyone has their own opinions and that's totally cool. Thats what it should be about. Everyone finding there own 'look' that they enjoy and running with it to tell a story. Some people prefer the cameras that shoot naitive 24p and that's fine. Me? Im going with the HDV now and thats the look that I enjoy. To me, film looks like film, becuase it's film, and shooting with a DVX or XL2 ( or whatever ) at 24p is still video at 24 frames per second.

What was important to me was:

1)naitive 16:9
2)price
3)HIGHER definition video

so for me that broke it down to the Sony FX1 and the Z1. The HVX was out of my price range, and since the fx was a chunk of change less, I went with that. Sure it has less control over audio and some other things that only come on the Z1, but it is things I can make due with and can deal with.

Yeah some people are gonna bash cameras and thats fine. It's gonna happen. I just like to read everything and anytyhing I can and take everyones opinion, then make my own.

Exactly. Some people have an eye for higher resolution, and some have eyes for the film look. Now, I know the HVX can do both... but it's a little to high in the price range.

As for me? I just wasn't satisfied with the CF function. And I wanted a filmlook for my projects.

That's cool. The HVX does seem really bad ass, but I dont like the p2 card thing... i think the 1gb one or whatever only records for 4 min. and they last only 100,000 times. They are solid state I would assume that they could be used infinately. for the price the HVX is without doubt, a great cam though.
