Anyone else order GH1 ($999) from Panasonic on Backorder?

I couldn't pass up this deal since I didn't buy the kit lens the first time. So I bought the Gh1 with kit lens for $999...which is on sale at the Panasonic site.
Anyone else GH1 on backorder?
 
That is a kick ass deal! The cheapest GH1 I can find on ebay is going for $800(body alone)... This is really tempting, any idea on how long this promotion will last?
 
I guess I must have missed the sale =( I'm checking the panasonic site and can't find that deal anywhere.

Me too...I checked yesterday when he mentioned it, and it looks like the deal was already over...they probably ran out quick! After selling the kit lens, that would have been one hell of a bargain!!
 
You can call them and tell them. If anyone is serious I will give them my other account and just tell them you tried to order on the 29th. That is when I ordered with that account. I used another account because when I tried to order with the mentioned account it said $1499. Just to let you know I am on backorder for 2 weeks though. Let me know.
 
A friend got that same offer a little over a week ago and sent me a screen capture to prove it. I used the exact same link he did and it was $1499. Then I think we figured out what happened. He ordered one direct when they first came out. Two days later Panasonic canceled his order saying they were sold out. So, this looks like a special to just some people. They don't seem to be blowing them out.
 
I ordered my GH1 a week ago for $999+tax, called Panasonic, and a very helpful lady was able to locate the last one in a warehouse in CA. Shipped w/ 2day and I got it on Wednesday. Now I have to read through all these threads...
 
In Aus they have finally dropped the RRP from $2599 to $1999. It's now available for $1700 at some stores, down from the $2300 average at most stores two weeks ago.

It's not uncommon for them to lower the RRP over time but it does make you wonder if they have something else waiting just around the corner...
 
Camera Action House in Australia had body only last week for $899, now up to $1299. Guess they read forums too...haha
