Anyone else do this?

So my producer and I were working on ADR and sound fx the other night and he brought to my attention that I use chapter markers for notes as I'm cutting. I don't know how long ago I started doing this, but I know it's been a few years. Does anyone else use the chapter markers for making notes as you cut?

Well, they aren't actually "chapter markers." They can be used for that, and it's a great tool, but the reason they're there IS to make notes. :)

I actually have not done this. But it sounds like it may help me in keeping track of certain things. I'll have to remember that.

You mean the shift-M markers? I just use them to identify each shot by number and a very brief description - i thought the single line of text made them too inconvenient to use for much more than that...

Just "M". I think Shift M prerenders. The single line does look like goobly-gook when zoomed out and you have a lot of them, but for a brief note like "Adjust levels" or "Insert cutaway", it's not bad.
