Anyone Buy Their 500 From AV Alive?

I assume this is a new camera. I didn't see anything on their site about the included SHAN-TM700, though. You can find the plate on eBay, BTW, for about $200 used vs. $400+ new.

It says they are a USA dealer. I've never dealt with them, however. Their site appears more focused on AV hardware. Have you tried calling their customer service? Might be a good place to start if you don't get any recommendations.

Yes, a new camera and the woman checked twice on the question of the plate and said that it came with it at that price. I don't really need it since I have one but it seems unlikely at that price. B&H has it for the same price but without the plate. I found some mixed reviews of AV Alive online but not for any high end stuff. B&H is backed up 2-4 weeks on the 500 and I needed it sooner than that. Oh well, it might be best to wait and deal with B&H rather than trust 10 grand to a company I know nothing about.

Stick with a DVXuser sponsor and you will probably save yourself a lot of headaches.

Actually,

Pretty much everyone I talked to recently when I bought an HPX-500 was selling it as a kit with the tripod plate and a bag for $9999.95. That is also before the $2K rebate. No need to go gray market on this one. Go with Spec Comm, they quoted me a good price and they are very good to the user community here.
