Anyone bought their DVX from NewEgg?

no... if you hit the page back when when it was from the panasonic website its all fine, your ok. But if its a shill site or a third party site dont input your info.

But Abes' is no more an authorized dealer than New Egg is and thus you do not know whether you are getting a US authoirzed product that has the DVX Book, the Magic Bullet or the warranty.

Best,

Jan

I would stay away from Abes.. ive heard a few bad ones. New egg is a tough one though, because they have some pretty good policies over there.. just realize you wont have any support whatsoever.

Actually if there is not a notice in the box that says to go to a website to register fo rthe Book and DVD, then you do not have a US product. Nor do you qualify for the rebate, nor do you have a warranty. Keep in mind many of the extended warranties that are sold only cover after the intitial warranty. This means for the first year you will not have a warranty.

They can sell you lots of things like the book and the DVD, but what for, get it for free. Magic bullet is not a cheap piece of software, it is almost $400, Barry's book is $69, and the rebate is $400. So I would find an authorized vendor and go for it.

Best,

Jan

So i keep hearing this authorized dealer non sense. Is anyone positive that newegg is not? I was told by multiple parties that it is, the product included magic bullet and the dvx book. Also the panasonic website (when they still were doing online rebate forum) accepted my serial number and my check is supposed to be in progress. I'd figure that my serial number would not be accepted if new egg wasn't a dealer, i mean they track products by serial number, hense the reason you must provide it. Until i'm proven wrong i stand by newegg.

Hi J5,

Non authorized dealers can find distributors and resell authorized product. The deal is that unless there is a clear relationship with Panasonic, they don't always have to sell authorized product, the following week they may have gotten a deal on grey. So it sounds as if you got an authorized unit, but that is not to say that everyone will.

Hope that helps,

Jan

I was a little skeptical of abe's but i took a chance a couple weeks ago. I bought the 100b for 3084.99 before the rebate. They give you the dreaded pressure techniques to buy accessories, but if you are prepared and have the right answers they will leave you alone. They also offered me a promotional price for there 4 year extended warranty which is usually 600 and some change, but I got it for half that.

I ordered the 2 day air option at 159.00. The camera ended up coming one day early.

Altogether I will have spent a little over 3k for my 100b with a 5 year warranty if you count the standard factory.

The camera came with all the accessories and a paper inside to register online for the dvd and book.

I posted this in another thread but, I talked to Newegg online and straight out asked him about the rebate and he didn't have any info on it so I had no choice but to say no. I wish someone know what the "MBK" at the end of the DVX100B Item name is?

I'm thinking of ordering via NewEgg as well, its a very reputable company (more so then like TigerDirect) and I've never had issues on any of half a dozen previous orders. Only catch is the rebate, so I'm going to fire off their product department an email later on.

It seems to me that the model breaks down like this:

AG-DVX100BMBK = AG-DVX100B (camera) MB (Magic Bullet) K (DVX booK)
at the very bottom of the web page it states:

Package Contents MB Software and DVX book

So the model AG-DVX100BMBK is refering to the package of the camera and the add-ons. That way if they had just the camera without that stuff, it would just be AG-DVX100B for inventory purposes.

Either way Newegg rocks and no, I don't have any affialiation with them other than a satisfied customer.

I too am a satisfied customer of Newegg. I ordered from there with my fingers crossed. But everything worked out. It came with MB and Barry's great book. And I recently got the $400 rebate in the mail. I think I had to leave off the last letter from the serial to get it to be processed, but it went through after some help from the Panasonic rebate help desk. So this is one customer who was happy. In no way does this mean that everyone who shops there will be as lucky as me. In retrospect I really did get lucky and would probably have went the safe way and gone EVS or B&H. But I am glad I saved some $. It went right to the tripod and a shotgun mic.:)

Awesome, I've always loved ordering stuff from newegg (Thousands of dollars so far), and confirmation of the $400 rebate from a real life person :o sounds awesome, also makes me believe that the Camera isn't gray.

NOW time to email NewEgg for confirmation and then rdy to launch :P

Where as this isn't newegg related, however i don't want to start a whole nother thread for it, but what do you guys think about amazon? They also sell the dvx, i don't see how it would be unathorized, its a big company. Any thoughts?
