good idea Sam! But mostly I am on location and try to have a light set up.
In studio I could also use the 7Q

This is a big issue for me. I called SmallHD and spoke to Joel about it. I've posted to their Facebook page. Please do the same.

In older firmware versions, the LUT did affect the Waveform & Zebras. However, they considered it a bug and fixed it in v2.0 (or maybe the version just before that). It IS possible for the monitor's exposure tools to reflect the LUT's change in exposure. They just changed the code.

I was hoping they would fix it in v2.1, but that hasn't happened. What's frustrating is that feature was enabled at NAB when the monitor was first announced.
 
It ought to be simply just a user setting, so you can dig in to toggle between the two viewing options of referring to pre or post LUT
 
I was discussing with Joel on facebook and he said that they thought most people would
be more concerned with analyzing the data being recorded. They may be adding the ability to
choose one or the other. I think chiming in to request this feature will be helpful.
