Anybody using an Apple Cinema Display as a HD studio monitor?

I need a larger monitor than my 9" and am thinking of using my 20" Apple Cinema Display through an AJA HDP2 ($640):

The monitor has a response rate of 12ms and a contrast range of 1000:1. I am worried about aliasing, setting up bars, fast motion, etc.

The alternative is spending $2700 on a Panasonic 17" so I'd really like it if this would work.

Thanks!

That's not your only alternative. We use Dell 2408s here, )6ms response) hooked up through a Matrox MXO2 miniMax and the Matrox does monitor calibration. I'm very happy with it. It was around $600 USD I think.

I have two 20" apple cinema displays, they are Ok for edit windows but do not do full 1080 for HD.

What I have is a blackmagic HD card with an HDMI out for full 1080p to an LG 23" TV or I use a DVI to HDMI cable from the second graphics card.

The best HD reference picture is from the blackmagic HD extreme card and it is far better than the 20 inch apple cinema screens.
