Anybody use LinkedIn?

It's a good idea, just not sure how much it's utilized. I think it makes sense for corporate video work, but IMDB is better geared towards filmmakers.

Well, obviously, yeah. But the nice thing about LinkedIn is that you can put up your resume and they don't question it. The people at IMDB have the tendency to be a gigantic pain in the ass when it comes to adding/removing credits.

Plus this allows you to make "connections" with people. Kind of like a Facebook/Myspace for adults.

Yeah, gods forbid one should have one's postings checked for accuracy. Interferes with mis-representing one's self, most annoying...

...friends urged me to set up a LinkedIn account. Haven't seen any benefit to it, but I guess it doesn't hurt.

I set one up, linked to some people I knew and some clients I've had in the past.

It has not gotten me any business, but then again it didn't hurt to spend 10 minutes to make an account, and who knows...

I'm on. Basically helps me keep up with past colleagues I otherwise would lose track of.
