GH2 Anybody try the computar CCTV 12.5mm?

I recently got a C-mount adapter and this lens >> http://www.ebay.com/itm/33063385454...NX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_500wt_1180 a Computar 12.5mm CCTV. It came today and the adapter snapped perfectly into place on my gh2 and the lens twisted on just fine. But the aperture is closed and there is only a focus ring on the lens itself. So... I'm guessing that I made a mistake in buying this lens? It has a cable sticking out the side to hook into a cctv camera I'm guessing... so then, anybody know how to open the aperture on this lens?

Not sure if I can use this lens? Others I've seen seem to have an aperture ring at the tip of the lens...

Looks like it may have an electronic aperture control. Most likely it will fully close when power is not applied to it. You may be able to physically remove the aperture blades, to allow full-open...
 
Thanks haha, figured as much. So I'll just look for one without electronic aperture control I guess. Should I just find one that doesn't have the cable attached? It's interesting no one has bumped into this problem before, lesson learned!
 
yea, I'd look for one with an aperture ring. Should be easy to spot in any pic of it. While you've already purchased this, you should take it apart to see if you can salvage any of it! Nothing to loose right? :)
 
Actually I think I might return it, since the seller listed it as "new", and that was far from the case...
