Just wondering if anybody here uses the gamma display assist when shooting in SLOG 2 mode and whether or not you feel it helps you?

I've used it and still find that I have to overexpose it SLOG 2 with it.

Yes. I use it only as a guide for underexposure but i turn it off when i know im safely overexposed.

Well i cant see my frame if everything is blown out.
Its better as an n underexposure guide. Since with this cam, its better to overexpose. I usually put gamma assist on a function for faster switching

I always have the gamma display assist on -for two reasons: 1) it helps greatly to dial in the correct WB and 2) I am always using the viewfinder, and when overexposing SLOG2 the viewfinder shows a great, bright image. For example, when using the normal photo mode and no picture profile, I find the viewfinder quite dark for a normal exposed photo.

Yeah I can see how it would help with the white balance thing. I've done some tests over the last couple of days just to see what would be more appropriate for me regarding exposure, and I found that the gamma display assist would show very visibly blown highlights when overexposing whereas having it off seems with the same exposure set shows much less blown sports. Therefore, for nailing 'accurate' exposure, it's probably best to have gamma display assist set to OFF. That said, nailing focus with it off is significantly more difficult, too so it's six of one half a dozen and the other, really. Maybe once i've LUTed and graded my test results, the image will look more blown out than I realise, I dunno. I'll confirm later this evening.
