Any way to get this shot on the cheap ?

Hello ,I want to do this style or type of shot for upcoming music video ,just wasn't sure how to make it happen with out spending too much on a crane with a motor head ,I'm assuming that's what was used here ? I appreciate any input . It's the shot from 2:43 to 2:51 of camera going down and turning ,I guess a focus puller is also needed ..

Do you have a slider that can do vertical movement? Then have a fluid head on the slider and put the camera on it sideways so its pointing down, then when you tilt the head it will rotate the camera to somewhat simulate the motor head movement. Won't be a perfect match but will give you something similar.

Also a slider with a Denz head would let you get the same thing quite precisely. Should be a pretty reasonably priced thing to rent for a day.

Very cheap looking video. If not for the fact it has millions of hits, based on the look of it i would predict it will be seen by family and friends only. So yes, it is very much so doable to do it on cheap.

Or you could likely shoot it locked off in 4 or 5K and then do the move and zoom in post to 1080HD. Seriously nobody will know the difference. Then folks will ask about your video. "I wonder how that shot was done?"

Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated , I'm going to practice it with the slider asreelfilmgeek and Grug pointed out.I was also thinking it could be done with a brush less gimbal with camera pointed down?
Pardon me Patryk :)
David that's one thing I didn't think about , also a great idea!

Well, at least as far as the actually production crew I would venture a guess they used the Alien Revolution Steadicam rig to get the shot. That would be their best shot without having to do a switch out. You can see the rig at 0:03 sec.

Back on the original question: Lowest budget option is Davids suggestion.

If you don't have access to 4k you could even mount your camera from above and spin it. You can digital zoom just fine to an extent. 4k or no, if you do the rotation practically, you'll have more space to crop in post.

My solution would be mount tripod head upside down on jib arm. Lower and rotate as necessary, zero dollars required, and yes a focus puller would help.

EDIT: On second thought, probably a combo of tripod head for the spinning, and a pistol grip to orient the lens downward.
