any way to get files off of SD card without camera?

as the title says...

was hoping that I could just use an SD card reader and copy the file structure to my Mac (like with P2 or SxS), but I tried using the card reader on my Dell monitor and it didn't show up.
also tried using the SD card with a MxR adaptor with my Mac Book Pro and no dice...

can it be done?

That's the only way I do it. Not via dell monitor but without the camera involved. I input via an express card adapter into my laptop.

Maybe you need drivers for the card to show up?

did you have to load a driver on your Mac system? I haven't opened the CD that came with the cam... is it on there?

btw, when is your short "Shady" coming out?

only tried with the built in card reader on my Dell 2405 monitor... but I also tried with the MxR adaptor on my laptop (which works fine with XDCAM EX files).

My point is that earlier generation card readers cannot read the SDHC variant of SD cards. Perhaps this is the case.

Cheers,

yeah, just googled a bit and the Dell is probably not going to read them.

but the MxR card adaptor should work... I'm using Sandisk Ultra II 16 gig class 4 - same as I use for my EX1

Good chance SDHC is not supported as well.

There's a Lexar card reader that does CF and SD. It's what I'm using, and it's a fast little bugger if you have speedy cards.
