Any Vegas Users Interested In Color Correction Tutorials?

After looking through the Photoshop Glamour thread and following what is going on there, I was wondering if a group of Vegas users would like to do something similar with Vegas and color correction. Essentially we could all work on a similar 5 second (to keep file size down) clip and share color correction or color enhancement methods with one another to improve skills and refine technique. Any other Vegas users interested in participating in something along these lines?

EDIT:
Oh, forgot to say, yes, I would be interested in participating and would be able to host the clip for everyone else to download.

I would sure as heck be interested in watching and reading! My cc skills are about pre-kindergarten level. heh! But that is why I would be interested in this. I need to know how to use the curves and scopes.

Abso-spankin-lutely, Yankee! You'd be my hero.

Oh, just re-read and saw it was Vegas. Well, you'd be just a her, then.

I never said that I would instruct this... LOL

Trust me, my color correction skills are by no means impressive. I'm just thinking this could be a really good group activity to help us all get better. I think that Jimmerson, Spot, even Hudson (he's good with Photoshop) could kind of lead the discussion, but we all know how to do certain things, so we can all participate. I just think it would be great to have a full activity for us to all be involved with.

I'm sure there are lots of Vegas newbies like myself needing to learn cc and willing to share the what we learn.

Is this a Vegas slam? Otherwise I don't get it.

Not a slam, just lpcv1 being, well...lpcv1 :) Its all good. We're family here.

edit: that's not a slam, either.

OK, well tonight I am going to post two clips, each about five seconds long (uncompressed AVI) in 24p. I will get the links posted up. One will be an interior shot and one will be an exterior shot and we'll see what we can start to make of this stuff...

This will be good for everyone, from rookies like myself to the ones who are more familiar with vegas already.

OK well it seems like we have a solid group of at least 10 people all geared up and ready to go with this. Hopefully David will chime in and sort of lead this effort, but tonight by 11pm EST I will post an interior clip and an exterior clip for everyone to download and we can let the color correcting process begin.

I think we should set the ground rules as using only tools in Vegas (no magic bullet as everyone may not have it) and as you post your clip or your screen grab please lay out the steps you took to achieve that look (so it is a learning process for everyone).

If anyone needs someone to host their clips let me know, I don't mind at all.

This should be a lot of fun, and hopefully pretty educational.

No slam intended, nor taken :love4: . I just don't have vegas, so it wouldn't actually help me.

Oh, and VEGAS STINKS YUCKY POO POO!

Mwaha--kidding! :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Just a suggestion, but why not just use a single frame rather than a 5 second clip? 5 seconds is pretty short already and a still frame would be easier to study (because it's not moving). Also, it's unlikely that the lighting conditions would change so drastically over the course of a 5 second clip that changes would need to be made to the filter settings from one frame to the next, so it's likely that the filter settings would be the same for the duration of the entire clip.

I'm not bashing the idea, in fact, I think it's a great idea and am very much interested. I just think that still images would be far easier to share (especially for those without a fast internet connection).
