I guess I'm confused as to why you're mixing the formats unless this is a "live" shoot with lots of "run and gun".
You mentioned that you're shooting in 24P. Is that 24P advanced? It's not that you can't mix formats, you can, it's just that I don't understand why you would shoot and edit progressive and also 60I on the same shoot if you don't have to.
What kind of a shoot is this? How much experience have you had with the DVX100? How much footage shot in either 24P or 24P Advanced?
Some things to remember when shooting in 24P. Watch your lighting and camera movement. Turn off your OIS. Use a tripod as much as possible. If you're going to do some pan shots, make them very slow and steady.
Are you going to be shooting in 16:9 or 4:3? What is the final placement of your video, i.e. TV? Mulitmedia, Film? Each one of these would require a different method of attack. An example of that would be if you're planning on Multimedia, then I would suggest shooting in 30P.
I once pulled off a 900 double handed spinning back cam cam and a half while using the dv rig pro in the incline forward chamis position. It was wicked.
