Any tips for CC/image quality?

Hey gang, my name is Corey (first post, yadda yadda).

I am looking to clean up my image quality a bit... as well as touch up my CC skills. Here is a grab from a recent ceremony project I did. I did some minor CC in FCPHD, but I was wondering if anyone had any tips.

Any ideas on how to clean it up a bit?

Thanks guys!

Exactly as Justin said, What kind of look are you going for. To me the image up top looks pretty good and clean to me. It's not muddy, too dark or too bright. As for general CC tips...I generally start by crushing the blacks a bit and juicing the highlight a touch. Then in the 3 way CC I add either warm or cool tones by sliding the lowlights and highlights toward my desired color. Hope this helps.

CC is more of an art form per taste.... what kind of feel do you want on it or do you jst want to see what other CC'ers can achieve?

I guess the only thing I want to ensure is that the image is clear and lifelike. I love the natural organic feel.

I also really like the warmness of daytime shots, but I don't really know how crazy I should go with mids and all that jazz when it comes to warmth. This clip has a lot of the feel that I enjoy (dark blacks, rich reds), but I haven't played around with it enough yet to know if I am going overboard.

You guys are the best... thanks! I will post some footage up soon.

May I suggest a real monitor. I just saw this video I cut on a SONY broadcast mon and boy did it look different than on my beat up old 13". Luckily it looked good. I've gotten good over the years at relating my different "tv" monitors to real color bar setups and compensating in my CCing, but a broadcast mon is the way to go. AND while FCP has a decent CC, I'd try to get my hands on Color Finesse by Synthetic Aperture. It's awesome. Came w/AE 6.5 if you have it.
