Any rumours about a Sony 24p camcorder?

He only used the F950 on Episode III, the F900's were used on Episode II and parts of Ep I, but yeah I think 'ol Sony has something in the works. Cross your fingers guys.

By the way, how small are the F950's? Has anyone used one? Because I read somewhere that they were supposed to be portable. I could be wrong.

I got the chance to use one on a music video shoot last weekend, it is quite portable, i'd say it weighs about 50 lbs. and is a lil over 2 feet long.

That's it, what you shall expect. - Basically the new camera is a Z-1 (though denoted differently) that will be an extension of the Cinealta line. - That is where the emphasis on 'film' is for these types of cams, and thus the wait for the addition of true 24progressive. - Expect it soon , under 6 months. - Sony knows it's customers demands - we're devoted to it -

It would be a pleasant surprise if Lucas was using "off the shelf to you and me" cameras :) . I think it could be done. We've all seen some great stuff come from those cameras (macgregor take a bow please...) and a filmout wouldn't be a concern if they're sticking to TV.

Keying HDV is an issue, but if the DV Garage guys can come up with an HDV keying solution like dvMatte blast, then I would wager ILM could come up with their own solution as well.

Ian, do you work for Sony? Sorry, I didn't know if that is what you meant.
