GH4 Any risk involved when using third party batteries?

Hi everyone!
Is there any risk involved when using third party/no name batteries with gh4? Also does batteries have some kind of a microchip that is read by camera? (similar like in fs700, warranty can be lost when they discover that you were using third party ones).
Many thanks!

Don't know about warranty implications, but the Watson brand batteries that B&H sells work great and I have had no issues with them.

3rd party batteries work fine, though to be on the safe side of things I would not use them for firmware updates. ( most of the GH2 "bricking" came from people using 3rd party batteries while updating the firmware )

I had a pair of Wasabi batteries with charger for an Olympus Pen E-P3 I used to use. I got exactly FOUR charge cycles out of them. One simply "died" after a charge never again to power the camera or accept a charge. The other

SWELLED UP IN THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT OF THE CAMERA!

...Took me right at 2 hours to carefully pry it out of the camera. This happened after the 4th charge, when I put it in the camera to prepare for the next day.

Another pair of Wasabi batteries I had were for the GH2. They never really gave any trouble but gave only about half the run time of genuine Lumix batteries.
