Any recommendations on SD cards?

Hi all:

Doing a three camera HVX-200 shoot. Seems that using the SD card deal to match the cams would be the hot tip.

1. What size SD cards do we need?

2. Any tips from anyone who has done the scene file transfer function using the SD cards? Doesn't look too difficult from reading the manual.

Yeah, I think you can get a pretty small card.

I was told from a panny tech that you don't need more than 8 and if you can find 2 that would work..

Yes, the Scene Files and User Files are tiny (measuring only in KB, not MB).

However, I read on page 125 of the manual that you can update the P2 drivers using the SD card. I followed the link mentioned in there and there are, surprise, no updates for the HVX200. However, there were lots of updates for other P2 devices, last updated in Dec 2005. The size ranged from 18MB to 24MB. The files are zipped and actually slightly larger.

My guess is that you shouldn't get an SD card under 32MB.

That said, you can pick up a 128MB card on eBay for around $12.
