He also says Alexa and F55 produce the same image and would not back down when challenged on it, so I'd be careful to take anything written by anyone online with a grain of salt.
:S
I'm convinced this camera can do better... ...I've ordered one, so it better...
Here's another one:

Again, not great, it's got that video look, but I'm convinced this camera can do better... ...I've ordered one, so it better...
So far this camera looks great on paper. It in every way beats a C100/ninja and C300...on paper. So far....as far as real video examples go...I have yet to see any FS7 image come close to Cinema EOS.
Am I the only one who thinks this...or are others feeling the same?
Lets give the camera the proper chance to be used under proper shooting conditions. People said the same about the F5 and FS700 and yet I have seen a lot of great looking footage shot with both.
I will give the C series that canons colours seem to be received better out of the box. Of course I have also had people ask me to shoot EOS std because it "looks more like the 5D" which they liked but I find it a terrible picture profile. i have always liked the Sony colours though so maybe I'm the weirdo. lol
I'm buying a FS7 after a year of rending C300. Anything I didn't like about the footage examples of the FS7 to me come down to personal taste and methods of the operator.
Totally fair. The FS7 still remains on my list of near future purchases. It will most likely happen if it gets into good hands and the potentials of this camera are, in fact, what they are cracked up to be.
Very true but they were first with 24P in a small consumer camcorder. HV20 if I remember correctly. Then again they were using 24F/30F in their prosumer line. I'm itching to get the call from Abel to pay the balance off and get delivery shortly there after. See what is possible with the FS7.Canon is always last. And only first when they don't know they are.
Canon is always last. And only first when they don't know they are.
All of these examples they dropped the camera off to someone for an hour of shooting. No wonder we aren't seeing the best results. Great footage isn't shot that way.
For a while I wanted to buy an FS700 but hated the form factor. Sony fixed that (also had love hate with C300 ergos) I imagine the footage off of the FS7 won't be any worse than FS700 and more in line with the F5.
