Any info on microphonesstyle.com

I'd be wary of anything that's discounted that much.

And exactly what do you mean by "multiple channel use"?

That is what I figured...

By multiple channel use I mean multiple transmitters, I'm not sure how that all works...but I want something like that shure slx14 so I can run 5+ lav mics/transmitters through at once for possible short film work this summer.

And that's exactly why I asked. This cannot be done. One transmitter per receiver. If you try to run even a second transmitter on the same channel, you'll end up with noise as they fight each other and you won't actually get usable audio from either.

Plus, a rack-mount receiver may or may not be your best bet. If you'll have a full audio cart, that can work. If, however, you need more portability, a compact and battery-powered ENG receiver is probably your best bet. You need to read THIS.

A couple red flags:

- Those are awfully good 'customer reviews' for a less than stellar mic.
- Their prices on other mics is REALLY high compared to 'normal' street price
eg: SM58's for $150 (Retails for $110 MAX),
PG58s for $160 (the budget version of the SM58, $160 should buy you three of them)
SM57s for $289!!!!!!

These guys appear to have ZERO knowledge of what they're selling, and I'd be completely unsurprised if they're selling counterfeits.

Also, that's a cardioid lav intended for live-sound use. Production audio almost always uses omnidirectional lavs. Shure's SLX and PGX lines are very 'user friendly' in a way that can make them a bit of a headache to deal with in a situation where you need to set up a bunch of mics.

Thanks for the informative replies fellas. Yes, I realized this cannot be done after talking to my sound engineer buddy. I'm going to stay away from that site, it definitely seems shady. I'll check out that link in the morning, I appreciate the help

They're selling a Sennheiser ME4 lav mic (not the wireless system, just the mic) for $678.00

http://www.microphonesstyle.com/sennheiser-me4-mini-lapel-microphone-p-146.html

That's a $140 mic. :) Yikes.

I kind of like their broken English name, though. Microphones Style. It reminds me of this Israeli fast food place in Brooklyn called Burgers Bar. The food is really good at Burgers Bar, but I get the feeling that the experience might not be so nice dealing with Microphones Style.

I dunno, I hear MicrophoneStyle makes a hell of a bacon cheeseburger.

See if you can make any sense of this from the site:

"At present, the market mainly divided into two categories: Wireless Microphone is a dynamic microphone. Its main characteristic is timbre, need not power supply, but the price is relatively high. Another type of phone is an microphone. Its characteristic is durable, high sensitivity, need 1.5 ~ 3V power supply, quality than with the dynamic microphone will send some. But its price is relatively low, suitable for announcing the microphone.
As household the microphone, had better choose dynamic, because the quality is better than other types of some, can truly reproduce sound, and not in the volume of the environment and the audio equipment of self-excited screaming, damage the high-pitched loudspeakers. Any goods are usually exquisite packaging design is also very beautiful appearance, in his hand, the receiver should feel comfortable, heavy, screen hood should no burr, more not damaged. Phone line should be consistent with the microphone brand."

I can't believe I'm saying this, but in defense of the Shure SLX... I have never had a problem running multiple systems, all the way up to at least 8. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a big fan and I wouldn't recommend that anyone buy them, but in that respect, at least, they work. :)

And if "Self Excited Screaming" isn't a band name, it should be. :D

That side is selling an SM57 for $289.50! That mic RETAILS for $124! No one in their right mind should pay more then $100. Stay away. Stay far, far away.
