Any idea about digitalcinemacourse ?

Hi Pop, it's a filmmaker's training product, 16 DVD 24 hrs., do you have questions about it? :)

The positive : It is loaded with great information. Everything you need to know to make a feature. The manufacturers talk about their products in detail, volumes on lighting, blocking, grip work. A whole sample movie dissected for your education. You get your moneys worth.

The negative (my opinion only): A bit slow moving, not geared for the beginner. Can be slightly sleep inducing at times as it is very methodical.
Most all educational DVD's are like this, for me anyway.

Overall: Buy it - just don't try to watch too much in one sitting.

Is it a beginner or an advanced course?
Thank to all of you

As I mentioned, not geared for the beginner. Doesn't mean a beginner
can't learn from it - but someone with no background in film or video may
not "get" this course as it gets into the real nuts and bolts of the subject.
You'll watch, for example, as an entire set is professionally lit and be shown
exactly why each step is taken. See a makeup artist do an entire 45 minute session in real time, explaining all the steps taken and why. Listen as the manufacturer of Acme filters tells you why the Acme co. decided to make filters the way they do and the purpose of each type. Not exactly dynamic, as I said
before, but still invaluable info and a must have.

I totally agree....as a beginner, I say Rush's videos are a MUST HAVE...however, it can be very sleep inducing at times...for instance, Bill Turner of the optics company seems like a very nice and very knowledgeable guy, but I have fallen asleep to him TWICE in two days...I am not exagerrating...unfortunately, his part is VERY monotone...

I'm only on my first DVD, but hopefully some of the others on the video speak more quickly or are more dynamic.

By the way, I am comparing this to Barry's bootamp video...Rush's videos are as quality as Barry's, but Barry is one of the fastest talkers I've heard in a training video, and *I* am a fast talker myself. So, going from fast-talking Barry to slow talking Bill, was quite the difference.

But, you *will* learn from Rush's videos. Highly recommended.
