Any good sources of used cine eqipment?

[Douglas Villalba]

I always end up buying new equipment even if I know I will never get my money's worth back on the job that I bought it for.
I hate renting because of the time I waste in the process, You need the equipment longer than expected, the equipment has been adjusted for the renter before you or to presets that don't work for the shoot and I don't have time to get familiar with it before the shoot.
In my zone, rental houses are very limited so you don't know if by the time you need the equipment someone else already rented it.
I am sure that many in small markets have had this problems. I think it would be a good idea to have a list internet links to places that both rent and sell used cine equipment.
If you have a link to a page that either sells used equipment or rents, please post or email me if DVXUSER objects to it. A lot of filmmakers and I will appreciate it.

i know at least one of the big box stores (THE big box store, in nyc) has a used department, and it's on their website. you probably won't be buying any cameras from there, but i picked up a sachtler dv12 a number of years ago. sometimes it's good for lights, too. it won't answer all your needs, but worth checking now and again.
