Any Fly Fishers here?

Just checking.

I'm in Ohio. Yeah, it's not really known as a haven of fish on the fly, but we manage to have fun with a couple trout streams, smallmouth streams, and carp ponds. Myself and my fishing buddy have been working on a little blog site with some little films documenting a few of our adventures. Flatlanderflyfishing.com

I'm fishing a crappie tournament this weekend. Last year my boat came in 3rd out of 50. Doubt we will rank that high this year as we will be fishing fly rods, exclusively :)

Liked the site. Really liked the stream. Always amazed me how one could find major league fish in a tiny stream.

I do, wasn't able to go this year (damn you, grad school!) - and your videos reminded me that I need to make time for it next year. Website is great, it looks good, is easy to navigate, and the videos are well done (albeit a wee bit long, in my opinion). Good luck this weekend :)

Cheers,
Adam

Sigh. I miss fishing of any kind. Fly fishing, most of all. Early mornings, the brisk water around my legs, waking me up. Coffee flask slung around my neck. Just the smell of nature before daybreak. The fish teasing and taunting me.

Well not so much the last part. Damn fish.

Absutively. Any fishing is good fishing, but I'm borderline purist haha.
Whats you're best fish story?
Hooked a huge trout up at Silverwood Lake. Got him almost all the way in. As I was grabbing him to put in my basket, he shook the hook out. And I didn't notice the pole was tensioned. Went straight into the web between the thumb and index finger. I mean straight in. I scared every fish on the lake with my cussing. Had to go to the ER to get it removed.
