[FS: General] Any experience with cheap re-sellers on Amazon?

I was perusing Amazon today to see if they had anymore D800s in stock and couldn't help but be drawn to the "used" section where I noticed http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0076AYNXM/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used. In case some can't see, it's a seller (albeit "Just Launched") selling a used D800 for $1305.00!

My "too good to be true" senses kicked in; however I felt like digging a bit deeper and messaged the seller. Got this as a response:

Hello,
The Nikon D800 36.3 MP CMOS FX-Format Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) is new condition,
( it just had to be listed as 'Used - Like New' as the box has been opened)
Comes with all manufacturer supplied accessories, US model,1 year full warranty.
It has not been used. The price is $1305 + $7.99 for delivery ( 2 - 3 days ).
Return policy is full money back in 30 days. If you want to buy send me your full name and delivery address to have your order placed with Amazon.

I responded back with an inquiry as to WHY it was so cheap in comparison to EVERYWHERE else in the world. Got this:

Hello ,

Like i told you sir, the box has been open, and i can't sell it like new.
The price is so low because I bought 5 pieces in stock from a company that went bankrupt, and i want to sell them fast, so i can go and buy orther units more.
So like i told you is brand new, and stil have the US warranty. So if you are interested please send me the shipping information so i can proced with the order.

Thank you

Now, I can't say for 100% sure this is a scam. I have to believe it is just given the fact that this individual would be losing quite a bit of dough selling these cameras for so cheap. I'm wondering too if any of you have had experience buying something from Amazon for dirt cheap and how that transaction went?

I apologize if this is in the wrong spot - I felt it could serve as a warning to others who are lured by the low price if indeed it is a scam.

It could also be a listing mistake by the vendor (in which case you are entitled to getting it at that price)

I had considered a possible listing error; however that particular seller has several items SEVERELY underpriced (5DII for ~$910, 5DIII for ~$1700) to make me think it's a listing error. The correspondences also seemed eerily similar to those whacky Nigerian bank guys - sir this, sir that
