Any comparisons between Odyssey 7Q and the Sony R5 recorder?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone with the Sony recorder solution has been able to do any direct comparisons between footage recorded on the R5 and the on Odyssey 7Q.

I know that Convergent Design say they're faithfully recording what the FS700 outputs (and I have no doubt they are) however looking at the same footage shot on the F5 (and indeed on the FS700 on the Sony recorder) and exported as DPX files form Sony Raw viewer next to original Raw files within DaVinci resolve, it is clear that the Raw viewer is applying some clever noise reduction - which I'm assuming is based upon a knowledge of the chip itself.

So I'm wondering if Sony have given Convergent Design the recipe for this secret sauce (possibly in the 3D LUTs, or for the popular codec flavour debayers) or if they're saving that for their own eco system.

I suspect not - mainly because I can't understand why Sony would object to CD recording the Raw footage in the Sony file format, except to prevent compatibility with Sony Raw viewer. Although that reasoning is perhaps a bit esoteric (will that many people really appreciate the difference?!) and it now seems a little bit pointless now they've realised the opportunity to be had in allowing the Odyssey record the 4K Raw as well - if they really want their little camera to become the all-conquering beast it can be - then surely they want it to shine, in which case ensuring compatibility with the Sony Raw viewer seems like the obvious choice (do doubt they could do this through a simple update to Sony Raw viewer.

Anyway I was hoping somebody on here who has the Sony recorder and an Odyssey 7Q/Access to an Odyssey 7Q might be able to shoot a couple of comparisons - just to see if there really is a difference, or if it's all just in my imagination.

Thanks!

EDIT: Scratch that. I think I'm just being a muppet, looking at the F5 stuff with the wrong Camera Raw settings.
