FAQ Any 7-10" FHD monitor with HDR-like dynamic range?

With all the hype about the new HDR-capable Atomos monitors/recorders (must admit the Inferno sounds really interesting), I have a question to you guys:

I'm successfully grading my FS7's Slo footage in Resolve Studio, and - monitoring on the HDR1000-rated Samsung SUHD - am quite successful in my "HDR10" attempts (HDR10 being sorta "poor man's HDR", as it doesn't require Dolby Vision license or over $20,000 monitors - all you need is proper use of Resolve Color Management and a monitor like mine). At the same time, I'm after a field monitor for my shooting - something 7-10" in size, with HD/3G-SDI input and FHD native resolution. I don't need (or can afford) a monitor/recorder, so the Flame or Inferno (or Odyssey7Q+, for that matter) would be an overkill - BUT, I'd really like the monitor to be HDR capable! It could then double as my additional edit monitor, which I'd feed from one of my Decklink 4K Extreme 12G SDI outputs, down-converting from UHD to HD (its HDMI output still feeding my 49" Samsung in UHD)...

Does anything like it already exist, or is around the corner? Or am I dreaming?

Take a look at the new SmallHD production monitors. They come in both SDR and HDR versions. It has to be seen how effective the HDR is and if they really are HDR and not just a lot brighter than the SDR versions. They are expensive though. (Reduser.net as a GB coming up at the end of October).

Thanks for the heads-up, @robbertvw! The 1303 HDR looks interesting, and exactly what I need. However - judging from prices of the larger models in this series - it will be way above my budget at the moment :(

I guess it will be more viable for me to go with 2 monitors - a separate one for filed monitoring (which I need rather urgently), plus a HD one for editing purposes I mentioned in my OP (with SDI inputs and at least an extended dynamic range, as a true HDR one would again be too expensive). Speaking of the former: just noticed first field 4K monitors are hitting the shelves, like the Euro 540 Liliput A10 (http://www.lilliputuk.com/monitors/lilliput-4k-monitors/lilliput-a10-10-inch-4k-monitor/). I know Liliput is a budget brand, but who knows - perhaps it will be good enough for making focusing 4K easier for someone with eyes problems like me (not just severe hyperopia due to my 61 years of age, but also some neck spine decease-related)...

PS. Just noticed they also have something comparable in functionality with the SmallHD 1303 - the BM150. Much cheaper, and 4K - but without HDR preview :-) ... BTW: what's the consensus on this board about Liliput brand in general?
