Anton bricks and d-tap?

Ex3 has a modular insert that connects a gold mount to the cam.
Wonder if something like that is in the works. Cam/light/nano all need juice and also would be a great counter balance with a dionic/hytron

Our supplier said that AB told them that there is no solution in the works for the dionics and the AF-100.
True or not? I don't know.

I have heard the same thing. I believe the AF100 is 7.2 volts while the AB batteries are approx. 16-14 volts. I believe the EX3 is a 12 volt camera. The AF100 probably shares the same components as some other Panny 7.2 volt cameras(hense keeping the price down), but making the use of AB batteries such as the Gold mount Dionics a bit difficult.
I am trying to power my Nanoflash, SmallHD monitor and possibly a Zacuto viewfinder with one battery system, instead of having to monitor 2-3 on a rig. This is a real pain in the a&$!!!
This one of many reasons why I am leaning toward the Sony F3.
I believe some sort of "resistor"?!? Would be needed in between the camera and AB batteries. So far nothing yet, nothing in the future...so far. Unfortunately, I cannot wait. I am sure as time goes on these "issues" will be addressed. Do not get me wrong, the AF100 is a fine camera, I just need a "camera system" that I can use my exsisting batteries, recorders, etc.

Sunday morning and my mind is a little fuzzy, so it may take a couple of hours to find the info - but - A couple of years ago I did a two HVX shoot at Everest Base camp, we were there for a week and had no place to charge batteries (camera, lights, and believe it or not a video village for the ad agency…) I had one of the suppliers here in Toronto wire me a 'step down' from battery belts that were 12-24 volts to the HVX 7.2 volts.
In the end didn't use them because the Elipz batteries lasted long enough.

Pretty sure any cam house worth their salt could wire a bespoke solution for you.

I have been running DVX100 off AB dionics for years. They made an adapter with a gold mount and
DVX ac panel that attached to the camera.

I don't think you are going to see this again since they are now pushing the elipse system.

It will be up to another company to step up with something. I am thinking switronics or the like.

It's not Anton Bauer but IDX makes a V-mount plate, the P-V257 that has two d-tap outputs, one of which is a regulated 7.3v output suitable for the AF100. This can be connected to the camera with their C-PANCAVC cable/adapter. The other d-tap output is unregulated for powering other devices.

I'm planning on mounting this IDX plate on a Zacuto red plate and double mount.

AbelCineTech carries the parts, here is a link to the plate - http://www.abelcine.com/store/ENDURA-V-Mount-Plate-with-2-Pin-D-Tap-DC-Out/

I just called AB, they will be offering a Gold Mount battery adapter for the AF100 the model number is QR-VBG, it is similar QR-DVX. The rep. said it should be available around the end of December and or January.
You should be able to mount it to any "cheese plate" that has the proper holes to mount the plate.
BTW, it is not on the website yet.

If your going to be putting it on rails you could do something like this:

battery-7.jpgbattery-9.jpgbattery-8.jpg

We made if for our 5D/7D it has a 7.2V out for the camera and x4 12V outputs for accessories. But either voltages can be changed very easily since they both have variable voltage regulators.

oops looks like i just changed my tune!! AB charges a mint for these though I bet, lets see what the price comes in at.

I will be setting up both IDX and AB plates on my shoulder system for the AF100, just like I do for the EX3 and EX1 cameras. I already have the IDX plates that have both 7.3v and 12v (12-17v really) in stock and I will have the AB's as soon as they are available. If the cost on the AB's is ridicules I will make my own voltage lowering circuit and add them to regular AB plates.
