Anton Bauer ELIPZ or Set of Batteries

Hello everyone..

which would you recommend..

Anton Bauer Elipz 10K Battery Pack for Panasonic about $280

or the equivalent in Panasonic
batteries (2 new/ 3-4 used)

Pros and cons of each?

Thanks

Steve

When I had my 200, I had an Elipz for it. Loved it. But I would always have 1-2 brick batteries for it as emergency back ups. Rarely had to go to them, as the elipz would let me film for most of the day. I would either mount it on my shoulder rig as a counter-balance, or on my belt if I was hand-held (I made the cable longer to reach)

unless you absolutely need to roll for hours without stop, id go with a set of regular batteries. i just hate the idea of a whole other device attached to my camera.

True, but with the simple change of a cable you can power a different camera. Nice if you ever upgrade or have a different b cam. Sure a nice battery system (two batteries and a charger) may run you upto $1000, but it will support a totally different camera by getting new cables and is reletively futureproof. The batteries may only last for a few years, but it's kind of nice knowing you'll always be able to use them.
